Consultation: use of mediation in planning

We have published a consultation paper on draft guidance on the promotion and use of mediation in the Scottish planning system. This is part of our a wider work on planning reform and implementation of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019, including steps to reduce conflict, improve community engagement and build public trust in planning matters.

With its focus on early engagement, the consultation will be of particular interest to planning authorities, communities, prospective developers of major and national developments and public agencies. The consultation paper is accompanied by relevant impact assessments.

We are inviting responses to the consultation by 12 March 2021.
