This section provides further information on housing numbers, Integrated Impact Assessment and the spatial strategy, including work on Regional Spatial Strategies.
Our national spatial strategy sets out where development should happen.
Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) contains detailed national policy on a number of planning topics. For the first time, NPF4 brings together spatial and thematic planning policies in one place.
There is a statutory requirement for the NPF to include ‘targets for the use of land in different areas of Scotland for housing’. This has required a new approach to be developed.
NPF4 will be subject to a number of statutory and non-statutory impact assessments.
